Ocean Friendly School Award.

Ysgol Christchurch, Rhyl have recently been achieved an Ocean Friendly School Award from the Marine Conservation Society. Year 6 pupils from the last two years have worked on the award, which has included learning about the problem with plastic, taking part in beach cleans and educating parents and pupils about plastic pollution and how to make swaps to reduce plastic in the ocean.

They have also created a team of ocean ambassadors from across the years to continue to promote the environment and the importance of looking after the seas around Rhyl.

Year 6 teacher Ellie Morris said ' We teach about plastic pollution as one of our topics so going for this award was a natural step. It's really important that we teach the children to help protect the environment they live  in'
