Eco Council

At the end of the last school year (July 2024) the Eco Council were over the moon to be told that we have retained our Platinum Eco Schools Award for the 5th YEAR. We are thrilled to retain the award for another year.

The Eco Council recently carried out an Environmental Review of our school. We now know the areas of school that we need to improve and we will be creating an Action Plan for the year ahead. We will also continue to liaise with the School Council to discuss and help in any way that we can.

The Eco Council have been helping with our new waste disposal system that is up and running in school and have been in charge of the food waste bins. The Councillors are in charge of putting the food bins on our yards for the children and staff to dispose of any food waste. We then bring the bins inside the school for our caretaker to pop the waste into our school compost bins. Our compost bins will then be used in our school gardens. We will also be helping to reduce the amount of waste our school produces and is therefore sent to landfill.

As ever, we are determined to continue our wonderful work and build on what we have firmly in place.
