Eco Council 2021-2022

We have just found out that the Eco Council have been successful in retaining the Eco Schools Platinum Award for a third year running. We are thrilled to retain the award for another year.

Our Eco Council have been busy liaising with the School Council to discuss and help in any way that we can. We now have an Eco Councillor who is also a member of the School Councillor. This will enable easy communication and collaboration between the two councils.

Towards the end of last term, both the Eco and School Council ran a Christmas decoration competition on behalf of Antur Cymru. Antur Cymru are a company working in partnership with Denbighshire County Council. The competition was run throughout the school and the finished decorations were sent to the pop-up unit in Rhyl’s White Rose Centre.

The Eco Council have been busy getting our new food waste bins ready. The bins will be placed on our school yards for children and staff members to dispose of their food waste. We will be putting all of the food waste into our compost bin for use in our school gardens. We will also be helping to reduce the amount of waste our school produces and is therefore sent to landfill.

As ever, we are determined to continue our wonderful work and build on what we have firmly in place.
