To converse simply and asking questions e.g. why? How? When?

Respond to instructions, questions and other stimuli.

Listen and respond to stories and songs.

Look at books with/without adults.

Practise the tripod grip using pinch and flick.

Numeracy

Children will develop their rote counting to 10.

To recognise numbers 1-5 and count 5 objects reliably.

Respond appropriately to key vocabulary and anticipates, follows and joins in with familiar number rhymes, stories, activities and games.

 

Knowledge & Understanding

 

Sort objects into simple criteria.

To handle and explore the use of tools and equipment.

Develop confidence when communicating / talking about their work.

To become more confident in finding his/her way in familiar surroundings.

Begin to match specific activities to certain times of the day/week.

Creative Development

 

To experiment, investigate and explore a range of materials and resources.

Respond to open questions about own and others' work.

Assemble materials into artefacts that have meaning to him/her.

To exercise some control in mark and pattern making with fingers and tools

CYMRAEG

Children will begin by following simple instructions and joining in with songs and nursery rhymes.

Also familiar words and phrases will be repeated.

PE

Provide opportunities to improve balance and coordination.

To play alone, with a partner or in a small group.

To listen to instructions in order to play relevant games.

Provide opportunities to climb over obstacles and pedal appropriately sized tricycles, bicycles and cars.

Beginning to 'snip' with a scissors.

RE

The Christmas Story

The children will be working on becoming independent with occasional assistance.

Developing awareness of personal safety - such as their knowledge of crossing the road.

Knowledge of familiar care routines will also be a focus.
