Things to remember
Monday spellings are given out to practise during the week and then returned on a Friday ready for the test.
Wednesday is our PE day, please ensure you have a full PE kit- shorts, t-shirt, pumps or trainers.
Friday homework and book bags are sent home and to be returned on a Monday. Homework is learning times table, 2,3,4,5 and 10. In addition children will be given homework based on our topic.
We have been very busy already this year. Our first topic was Dinosaurs which we really enjoyed. We found out where different dinosaurs lived, their names and whether they were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores.
Our topic for the last half term was Mexico.
We have learned a lot this term about Mexico including food tasting. We also learned about the many volcanoes and compare the climate in Wales to that of Mexico.
Our first Spring Term topic is an author study. We have chosen Andy Stanton the writer of the Mr Gum series of books. We have already read 'Your a bad man Mr Gum' and are now reading 'Mr Gum and the Biscuit Billionaire.' We have really enjoyed these books and have based a lot of our work on the stories. We will research the life of Andy Stanton and study other books he has written.
We planted bean seeds and recorded their growth and made environmentally friendly plant pots. We have learned what a plant needs to grow.
We located the rainforests of the world and found out why they are important. We learned about the layers of the rainforest.
